Environmental Policy
- The Herbjar uses no synthetic skin care ingredients but only natural ones.
- We believe that the synthetic additives used in conventional skin care products are both damaging to the environment and unnecessary. It is possible to create excellent skin care products using 100% natural ingredients, and the Herbjar does exactly this.
- We also believe that synthetic additives are in the long term bad for the skin, so that ending their use will have a healthy effect both on consumers and on the environment.
- We actively seek to obtain our raw materials from sustainable sources.
- We actively seek to minimise our carbon footprint. We source our packaging exclusively from UK suppliers. While some of our ingredients have to be imported (as they can only be grown overseas), we source as many of our supplies as possible from within the UK.
- Our concentrated, water-free products reduce the overall amount of packaging required by three to four times compared to water-based skin care products.
- We ensure as far as possible that the packaging we use is recyclable or biodegradable - hence we prefer recyclable glass and aluminium containers to plastic.
- We do not test on animals. Beeswax is the only ingredient of animal origin we include in our formulations.
